Accademia dei Selvatici 2023
summer course of reinassance and baroque music and dance
The forth edition of the Accademia dei Selvatici's summer course aims to gather musicians devoted to Renaissance and Baroque music in the historic town of Acquasparta for one week.
Open to all levels, from professionals to amateurs, the course offers individual instrumental technique and repertoire lessons and two ensemble music workshops:
ensemble music for the dances and ensemble music repertoire from the late 16th century to the first half of the 17th century. Musicians who do not have a specific course for their instrument can enroll in these workshops.
In addition to vocal, Reinassance dance, and instrument classes (recorder, lute and theorbo, viola da gamba and violone) confirmed from the previous editions, this year there will be a class of baroque violin, harpsichord and early percussions. Accademia dei Selvatici aims to offer every year something more to the students and to Acquasparta itself, where the final concert inspired by the court festivities of the end of the 16th century will take place.
For the 2023 edition, the Accademia dei Selvatici proposes the semi-dramatic opera of Claudio Monteverdi (1567 - 1643) Il ballo delle ingrate which will be the main part of a concert program dedicated to the composer from Cremona, on the 380th anniversary of his death.
