Renaissance and Baroque music and dance summer course

The forth edition of the Accademia dei Selvatici's summer course aims to gather musicians devoted to Renaissance and Baroque music in the historic town of Acquasparta for one week.

Open to all levels, from professionals to amateurs, the course offers individual instrumental technique and repertoire lessons and the ensemble music workshop.
Musicians who do not have a specific course for their instrument can enroll in this workshop.

In addition to singing, Renaissance dance, and instrument classes (recorder, lute and theorbo, viola da gamba and violone), this year there will be classes of Baroque violin, harpsichord and early percussions. Accademia dei Selvatici aims to offer every year something more to the students and to Acquasparta itself, where the final performance will involve all the students.

For the 2023 edition, the Accademia dei Selvatici proposes the semi-dramatic opera of Claudio Monteverdi (1567 - 1643) Il ballo delle ingrate which will be the main part of a concert program dedicated to the composer from Cremona, on the 380th anniversary of his death.

Vocal soloist will be selected through an online audition, by filling out the dedicated form by June, 10th 2023.
